We believe in the need to build a stronger technology and entrepreneur-centric ecosystem on the continent. Our contribution is not only to partner with entrepreneurs by providing capital and business building capabilities, but also to develop relevant tools for the African VC community of entrepreneurs, investors, talent, advisors and corporate players.

Africa Tech CEO Summit

The Africa Tech CEO Summit is our signature annual ‘invitation only’ event bringing together the entrepreneurs we have partnered with, as well as a small group of the continent’s most dynamic founders, to share, discuss and work together on common scaling and value generation challenges.

WAVE (Women in African Venture and Entrepreneurs)

The Women in Africa VC and Entrepreneurship (WAVE) Initiative supports Africa female tech founders who typically are a minority working with limited access to capital and business building support. Specific programs include the annual Female Founder Summit where female entrepreneurs share and learn from each other and establish a network of people sharing similar values, and the ongoing selection of female tech entrepreneurs for mentoring.

The TIDE Foundation

In recognition of the significant role that entrepreneurship, technology and innovation can play in developing economies, TLcom has set up the TIDE (Technology and Innovation for Developing Economies) Foundation, a not-for-profit organization aimed at providing non-investment yet critical services to promote local entrepreneurship in Africa, such as training in venture capital in partnership with global academic institutions and local incubators. The Foundation is led by Maurizio and Andreata.
