Omobola is a Senior Partner at TLcom Capital, based in Lagos. She represents the firm on the boards of Educatly, Fairmoney, Okra, and Pula.

Before TLcom, Omobola served as Nigeria’s first Minister of Communication Technology from 2011 to 2015. During her tenure, she launched and implemented the National Broadband Plan and championed initiatives to support the country’s technology ecosystem. These included pioneering government involvement in a local VC fund and a network of start-up incubators.

Prior to her public service, Omobola had over 25 years of experience as a management consultant, advising companies across various sectors on enhancing their competitiveness and agility. She served as the Country Managing Director at Accenture for five years.

Omobola also serves on the boards of several public, private, and non-profit organizations, including MTN Nigeria, Custodian Investments, Guinness Nigeria, Liquid Telecom Holdings, and the Nigeria University of Technology and Management (NUTM). She is the co-founder of Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) and was the inaugural Chairperson of its board of trustees.

Omobola holds a DBA from Cranfield School of Management, a master’s degree in Digital Electronics from King’s College London, and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of Manchester.
