Maurizio Caio

Managing Partner

Maurizio is the founder and Managing Partner of TLCOM, with a deep passion for drums and music.

Maurizio leads the firm's strategy and firm management. He sits on the boards of Pula, Little Fish and Swypex.

Before TLCOM, he was a Director at Bain & Company, leading its EMEA Telecom & Technology practice across Europe and San Francisco, and earlier worked at McKinsey & Company on technology and growth strategy.

Beyond investing, Maurizio co-chairs the VC committee at the African Private Capital Association (AVCA), is a member of the Africa Council at the Global Private Capital Association (GPCA), collaborates with Stanford SEED and teaches Business Strategy for Investors and Entrepreneurs at the Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM). He developed and taught the original VC course for Ashesi University in Ghana.

He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated summa cum laude in Business Administration from Bocconi University.
